
How do I become a Content Provider?
Content Providers pay a small annual fee to join and upload their Clips. In order to keep the level of content as professional as possible, there are certain restrictions and eligibility but we'll tell you more about that when you apply.
What kind of content can I upload?
Once you are approved as a Clip Attic Content Provider you can upload any number of Clips up to a maximum total of 500 MB. The only proviso is that you must own the copyright for this material, including any music that is used, and the Clip(s) must not contravene any of Clip Attic�s privacy / decency rules.
How do I upload files?
Log onto Clip Attic with your user name and password. Select your own Content Provider section from the drop down menu. Then simply click on the "upload" button and select the file you wish to upload. You will also be required to provide information to categorise your Clip, including key words and phrases, summaries and descriptions.
How big can the files be?
As a Content Provider your total allotment of space is 500 MB, unless a larger space and fee is negotiated with Clip Attic management. Each file can be any size however the maximum size in total of all uploaded files may not exceed 500 MB.
What type of files can I upload?
Clip Attic has been designed to serve video Clips as fast as possible, To do this we have standardised on Adobe's "Flash" technology. The file format is .flv and is readable by any browser e.g. Internet Explorer of Firefox.

Where can I get an FLV converter?
Content Providers that require a converter can download one here. The converter will allow you to easily and quickly transcode most video formats to the .flv format.
What do I use to play .FLV files that are on my computer and not on a web site?
Content Providers that require a desktop FLV player can download one here. The player allows you to view the .flv files before you upload them to Clip Attic.
How do I edit or delete my Clips once I have uploaded them?
If you are logged in as a Content Provider, you will see the links for EDIT and DELETE on the right hand side of the Clip's name, below the actual video frame.
Can anyone else edit or delete my Clips?
Only someone that you give your log-in details, or may have guessed your password, has administrative access to your Clips. Otherwise your Clips are completely secure and cannot be changed, removed, edited nor can any of the associated details be altered.
How do I know how many times my Clips have been viewed?
Simple statistics are provided for each Clip. If you are logged in as a Content Provider, you will see the link for STATISTICS on the right hand side of the Clip's name, below the actual video frame.

Can I edit the comments?
Content Providers can edit any comments made about one of their Clips. If you are logged in as a Content Provider you will see the EDIT and DELETE links on the right hand side of the Comment's Title.
Can I stop people from commenting on my Clips altogether?
People can only comment on Clips where permission is given by the Content Provider to do so. Once a Clip is uploaded the Content Provider must specify if it is available for comment.
How do people download my Clips?
There are two download buttons attached to each Clip. One is to download the Clip in its original format and the other in a smaller "zipped" format. The utility "WinZip" is required to "unzip" each file.

How do I stop people downloading my Clips?
People can only download Clips where permission is given by the Content Provider to do so. Once a Clip is uploaded the Content Provider must specify if it is available for download.
